Kool Skools CD Launch

On Saturday 11 October Surf Coast youth will be have the opportunity to attend the launch of the new "Kool Skools" CD "Johnson Street" at Surf World in Torquay.

The Department of Sustainability and Environment is inviting primary and secondary school students to submit artworks illustrating what they think Victoria's environment should look like in 50 years time.
Winning images will be featured in the 2009 Victorian Youth Environment calendar and will be exhibited at the launch of the Victorian Government's Land and Biodiversity White Paper in May- June 2009...read more
NSW GM map published today

Gene Ethics' map of Genetically Manipulated (GM) Roundup tolerant canola sites and GM canola depots in NSW (See: http://www.geneethics.org) was published today with information gleaned from media reports. GM canola pollen and seed dispersal threaten many rural industries with gene contamination.
"Our map will help protect GM-free grain growers, beekeepers and harvesters from GM contamination," says Bob Phelps, Executive Director of Gene Ethics.
"Only one in a thousand farmers is growing GM canola this year, but they pose an unacceptable risk of GM contamination to all other farmers, rural industries, local government and shoppers...read more

Well you and I knew that! But Channel 9 told all the uninformed as well, when they announced the results of the RACV VICTORIA 101 competition on Channel 9's (Melbourne) Postcards on Friday 26 September 2008 at 7.30pm.
