What am I to bid?

On Monday 29th a large crowd attended the rooms of S.C. Arnold & Co for the auctioning of the hull of the Inverlochy.

Bidding began at £5 and when it reached £160 the vessel was knocked down to Mr G.B. Appleton, who was believed to be purchasing on behalf of the insurance companies involved.
