Table Set For Worlds Longest Lunch

March 2, 2005

The tables will soon be set at the Memorial Square for Colac's fourth World's Longest Lunch - Mediterranean style.

As diners take their seats under the elms, a succulent meal will arrive featuring a host of regional gourmet foods, carefully complemented by wines from the local vineyards.

The Menu

Upon arrival, diners will be greeted with a delicious bevy of starters, including an omlette and prawn nori roll, Irrewarra gourmet strawberries wrapped in Kassler, and a vegetable rice paper roll with ginger lime mayonnaise.

The entree consists of scrumptious quenelles of Timboon Parratte smoked eel and Timboon smoked trout with salad of artichoke and shitake mushroom from Botanic Café Gallery.

Local bakeries will provide fresh crusty rolls dipped in Leighgrove Olives olive oil to accompany the meal.

When the main courses arrive guests will again be amazed by a tender greek-inspired lamb dish from CRF with accompaniments prepared by Duffs Café.

The delicacies continue with a delicious Potted Berry Cheesecake featuring local berries, by Yeowarra Hill and almond bread by Jo.

The lunch finishes with coffee and a wonderful selection of gourmet tea from the Prince of Wales Tea Parlor.

The coffee will be accompanied by delicious Regal Petites and Irrewarra Homestead Natural icecreams.

The Lunch will be held on Friday, March 11 from 12pm until 4pm and is proudly sponsored by AKD, Charles Stewart Real Estate, CRF and Colac Otway Shire.

Tickets are $70 per person and can be purchased from the Colac Otway Shire, Duffs Café or the Botanic Café Gallery.
