Seniors celebrate their 35th Birthday
7th May 2003

The Anglesea & Aireys Inlet Senior Citizens Club celebrated its 35th birthday this Wednesday with a little help from some friends. The Portarlington Entertainers traveled down and put on a wonderful cabaret performance for the 87 members and guests present.

The occasion was opened by the Senior Citizen's President Arthur Bubb, who welcomed everybody, made apologies for those not in attendance and introduced the Entertainers. After the National Anthem was sung the show got underway. And what a show. The costumes, the singing and choreography were performed with great enthusiasm and professionalism. A big thank you to all those involved.

A light lunch of sandwiches and slices was provided by Furio's, while the birthday cake was baked and decorated by Peter Cormick.

The Surf Coast Shire Senior Citizens Coordinator Debbie Street was also in attendance and took the opportunity to announce the approval of a grant application to install a computer with internet access in the Senior Citizen's Club library. The grant will be presented on the 27th May at the Shire Offices along with 15 other Minor Community Grants Scheme recipients.

Photo GalleryThe day's raffle was won by Betty Braley, who received a hamper of fruit. Runner-up, Val Smith won a bottle of red wine and the chocolate door prize was taken away by Mary Fletcher.
